Update

Dear Blog Followers,
I am happy to report that after several (I am honestly not sure how many) very hectic days we are 90% ready to leave for Kansas City. The wiring, which was not working at all as of last night, is now working properly. The truck is no longer hemorrhaging oil, the lights inside the trailer are mounted, the tow package is on the truck, the proper extension for the tow package has been located (much harder than it sounds) and connected, the ball mount and ball are correct (trial and error all the way), the brake buddy is hooked up (and working), the curtains are made, we have food for the trip, and everything we own is in a box. Whew!*
Also, The Spartan took her maiden-voyage around the block yesterday and boy did she look good being pulled by that truck. Pictures to follow.
So, despite set-backs (major and minor) we are going to be setting out tomorrow (EDT not yet determined) half-way across the country. The trip is approximately 1,047 miles and we hope to be in KC by friday night. Keep following the blog as I will continue to document The Spartan's adventures.
But for now, goodnight!

*We would like to especially thank Homer and Marcia McCoy who have been hard-working right along side us these last few (extremely hot!) weeks. Their persistence and good-humor have helped to make our dream a reality.

Departure Delayed

Unfortunately a worn-out oil pan gasket has delayed our departure to Kansas City for a few days. However, there has been a lot of progress on the Spartan and she will be ready to go by Friday even if the truck isn't :(
